Dallas Cowboys quarterback coach Jon Kitna has only been on the job a couple of months, but he has been blown away by what he has seen from Dak Prescott all season. Everyone knows about Prescott's skill, but the most important thing for Kitna is just how badly Prescott wants to be the best.

“He already has an elite mind-set,” Kitna said of Prescott via SportsDay. “He doesn't want to just be good enough or very good or great. He wants to be the best. He wants to eliminate anything that maybe he sees as a weakness.”

Kinta knows how important it is that he gets the best out of Prescott but how he does that is going to be a bit different. He really wants to focus on the good things that Prescott has done on the field, and he doesn't think rehashing all the bad throws and interceptions really helps anyone.

“I'm not going to sit back here with a clicker and go ‘Come on, that's easy,'” said Kitna, 46, during this weekend's rookie minicamp at The Star. “There's nothing easy about playing that position. … The fact I can tell them, ‘I've already paid that cost for you. You don't even need to look at that route when we get this coverage. I've already done that — I threw that pick. Go somewhere else.'”

With Prescott's drive to be great, there is no doubt that he is going to work to improve on the mistakes he has made the last few years. It's a big year for Prescott and Cowboys fans are hoping that Kitna can get him to the promised land.
