All eyes are on Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys as they try to work out a long term deal before next month's deadline.

NFL contract and salary cap expert Joel Corry has heard all the chatter about Prescott and Cowboys, but he still has confidence the two sides will reach a long term agreement.

According to reports, the Cowboys want Prescott on a five-year deal, while Prescott is looking for a four-year deal. Corry believes that the Cowboys will end up giving Prescott the four years he is looking for:

“I think Dallas will cave and give him the four (years),” Corry said via The Athletic. “Here’s how you know. As much as some people will say (the Cowboys) don’t really want Dak, if there was ever a year for you to roll the dice on a quarterback, it was this year because you had several quarterbacks available in free agency. If Dallas was lukewarm on Dak they could have stuck a transition tag on him where they had the right to match, let the market dictate what that deal would have been and then gone yay or nay.

Corry also points out that the Cowboys put the exclusive franchise tag on him to make sure no one else could negotiate with him. He thinks that alone shows how important it is to them that they get a long-term deal done.

It still seems the signs are pointing towards the deal getting done, but as the deadline gets closer and closer, there are going to be more fans getting nervous with no new deal in place.

There is still the franchise tag, but if the deadline passes, could Prescott decide to sit out the season? It's unlikely, but it is a possibility.

The Cowboys kick off the season on Sept. 13 against the Los Angeles Rams.
