Everyone can agree that Myles Garrett's helmet-bashing on Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph is far from acceptable. Even Dallas Cowboys defensive end Robert Quinn is not excusing Garrett's actions. However, he's calling out the NFL for how it's been approaching games as of late.

The defensive end believes that the league's referees are too quick to throw their flags whenever plays get physical that is expected out of a full-contact sport like football. It's quite a daring thing for Quinn to call a league that has hits and tackles as part and parcel of the game as soft.

Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News wrote about Quinn and recorded his explanation for his hot take:

“You got to play full speed, they going to throw the flag,” Quinn said Friday. “They going to throw the flag. They make so many rules changes, who knows what they’re going to call nowadays? So you just play and hope it doesn’t get to that point. Take it back to 1960 there was only two rules: score and stop them from scoring. Man up. But nowadays you can’t do that. Charmin, in a sense.”

Charmin?

“Charmin. Soft. Tissue,” he said.

Bad refereeing has been a recurring theme in the NFL this season as players and fans are calling out the officials for their inconsistent calls. They believe that these officials are making it hard for teams to build momentum and play without fear of getting flagged all the time.

In the meantime, Garrett has issued an apology to Rudolph, the Browns fans, and the entire NFL for his actions. While it's unlikely that his words will revoke his suspension, it's a good sign from the defensive end.
