In the six weeks that have followed the Dallas Cowboys decision to part ways with former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant, has remained afloat in free agency. There hasn't been any significant interest in his services aside from Bryant reportedly turning down an offer from the Baltimore Ravens.

All of this has puzzled Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones that the 29-year-old has yet to find a new home in the NFL, according to Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram.

“I am sure Dez is being thoughtful,” Jones said on Tuesday. ”I don't know the details as to why he hasn't picked a home. I am sure he is being very thoughtful about it. I am sure he has good people talking to him too. I am sure at the end of the day he is being thoughtful about what his next steps should be. I am sure he is working hard. No one is rooting for Dez more than we are.”

Bryant has experienced a notable drop in production over the last three seasons failing to register 1,000 receiving yards in any one of those campaigns, but he clearly still has the ability to be an impact player in the passing game. It's just a matter of him finding the right fit for his skill set at this point in his career.

There has been some continued decline in his ability to create separation from defenders, but he could prove to be a huge late offseason pickup for a team looking to further stabilize their passing game. He is still in the prime with possibly several more highly productive seasons ahead of him.

On top of that, this next stop could also be a prime opportunity for him to show that he has plenty left in the tank to perform at an elite level. He has more than enough extra motivation from all the doubters that have increasing emerged the longer he remains available in free agency this offseason.
