Dallas Cowboys guard Zack Martin said after the teams win on Sunday that the Lions defense was predictable and they had a good idea what was coming. The Cowboys were able to gain 414 yards through the air and on the ground against the Lions including 55 yards in the last drive that led the Cowboys to a 26-24 comeback victory.

Martin said that he thinks the Lions do have a good defense, they were just too predictable in their schemes.

“They’re a good defense, but they play the same thing,” Martin said, via the Detroit Free Press. “They don’t give you a lot of different blitzes or looks. We pretty much knew what they were going to line up in and we had call-it-and-run-it plays and we executed them.”

This isn't the first time this year that the Lions have been called too predictable. After the first game of the season, New York Jets linebacker Darron Lee knew exactly what plays the Lions were going to be running on offense before the play and even called them out.

“We were calling out their plays as he was getting up to the line,” linebacker Darron Lee said via Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.

“We knew his signals. We knew everything. That’s just preparation as a defense. . . . It seemed like we were in his head as a defense.”

This is Lions coach Matt Patricia's first year but it is very concerning that both his offense and defense has now been called predictable. It will be interesting to see if anything changes for the Lions over the next few weeks.
