The Dallas Cowboys decided to place their franchise tag on Demarcus Lawrence. It's unknown if Lawrence will hold out or not but they could be looking to trade for Robert Quinn to bolster their defensive line.

According to Clarence E. Hill Jr., the Cowboys “badly” want Quinn to join their team. Currently, Quinn is still on the Miami Dolphins so he would need to be traded.

The Dolphins gave permission to the New Orleans Saints and Cowboys to speak to Quinn about possibly trading for him. The veteran wants out of Miami so it's expected for him to be moved at some point this offseason.

The veteran defensive end spent seven seasons with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams from 2011-2017. He played last season with the Dolphins after being traded by the Rams.

Quinn has struggled to return to his elite form in the past few seasons. In his first four seasons, the defensive end had 45 sacks to his name.

Although, in his last four seasons, he has just 24 sacks. The 28-year old sack artist could still have the potential to be a key piece of a team's defense.

The Cowboys could need someone like Quinn to start for them if Lawrence decides to hold out. Plus, Randy Gregory was suspended for a few games to begin the season.

Jerry Jones has talked about how the Cowboys have made moves to be able to win now. Could Quinn become a piece that helps them work towards winning in the near future?

We'll have to see if the veteran pass rusher finds himself in Dallas when the offseason is completed.
