Through the years, we have all become accustomed to seeing NBA reporter Craig Sager wearing colorful jackets and coats when covering games. This has been his trademark and has made him standout for more than just his excellent reporting.

During Wednesday's ESPYS, he arrived sporting a multi-colored jacket with a yellow shirt under it, as only the one and only Craig Sager can.

The longtime Turner Sports sideline reporter was honored tonight with the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance. The award was named after the late North Carolina State head basketball coach Jim Valvano, who passed away two months after delivering a heartfelt speech at the ESPYS in 1993.

Sager, who was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2014, delivered a very emotional speech which was also one of the highlights of the night. Sager said in his speech:

“I will continue to suck the marrow out of life, as life sucks the marrow out of me. I will never give up. And I will never give in.”

Last March, Sager announced that his cancer was no longer in remission and he would again need to receive treatment. Despite his diagnosis, he still continued to work last season and for the first time in his career, was able to cover an NBA Finals game during Game 6 of the series between theCleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors.

Truly there is no one more deserving than Sager be honored at this year's ESPYS. He has shown tremendous courage and strength is facing cancer and has been an inspiration to a people around the world.
