Cyberpunk 2077 Anticipated 1.2 Patch Delayed Due To Previous Cyber Attack
CD Projekt announced the unfortunate delay for a long-anticipated update for Cyberpunk 2077. The Polish developer revealed their plans in their road map but certain events have caused massive changes. The greatest detractor in CDPR’s future plans to fix its latest game remains the ongoing fight against hackers. CD Projekt Red suffered a targeted cyberattack which resulted in the theft of crucial game code. Problems continue to pile on for the Cyberpunk developer.
FIGHTING ON TWO CYBER-FRONTS
While we dearly wanted to deliver Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 in the timespan we detailed previously, the recent cyber attack on the studio’s IT infrastructure and extensive scope of the update mean this unfortunately will not happen — we’ll need some additional time. 1/3

CD Projekt Red remained completely apologetic in its short Twitter announcement. Undoubtedly, Cyberpunk 2077 is at the forefront of their concerns but they are forced to fight against unseen enemies. CDPR already fought back against any mentions of their game codes on social media.
“Our goal for Patch 1.2 goes beyond any of our previous updates. We’ve been working on numerous overall quality improvements and fixes, and we still have work to do to make sure that’s what you get. With that in mind, we’re now aiming for release in the second half of March.”
It’s an understandable setback on the side of the Polish developers. Unfortunately, the problems only seem to stockpile with every little hurdle that Cyberpunk 2077 faces.
“It’s not the news we enjoy sharing, but we want to make sure we launch this update properly. Stay tuned for more information as the time draws closer. Thank you for your continued patience and support.”
Given the numerous problems and issues that CDPR currently faces, their approach to their game is nothing short of commendable. Any other game developer would have crumbled under the pressure and abandoned the broken title. There’s little hope to fix the absolute broken console versions but CDPR still has a chance to fix Cyberpunk 2077.
It’ll be tough fighting two enemies at once but CDPR has the chance to evolve as a game developer. Hopefully, the fans retain enough hope and patience to wait for this iconic game to reach its true potential.
