Dana White is the decision-maker of the UFC. That much is clear. That means that when he says something is next or someone is getting a title shot next, there's a good chance it's going to happen.

Dana White recently appeared on The Jim Rome podcast and spilled the beans on many interesting subjects. That also includes the UFC lightweight title situation.

There are many different options for the UFC lightweight title next. Beneil Dariush and Islam Makhachev are set to fight next in what could be a title eliminator. Justin Gaethje made it clear he should be next unless the UFC wants a riot on their hands.

Jim Rome asked Dana White if Justin Gaethje was next for the UFC lightweight title. The good news is, he won't have to riot.

“Yup (he’s next),” White said. “As long as everybody’s healthy and everything’s good, it should be him, coming off one of the greatest fights anybody’s ever seen in their life.”

Justin Gaethje recently went out and beat Michael Chandler in a fight of the year contender at UFC 268. The bout was very exciting and it was clear Gaethje was the better man that night.

The title situation at 155 is starting to sort itself out as UFC 269 sees Charles Oliveira defend the belt against Dustin Poirier, then the winner fights Justin Gaethje, then the winner of that fight faces the winner of Beneil Dariush vs Islam Makhachev.

It may sound a bit complicated but the UFC's lightweight division will sort itself out quickly should everything go to plan.
