After fully digesting the smackdown laid by Kamaru Usman on Jorge Masvidal last April, not a few probably whispered under their breath, “God, I wish Dana White lets Jake Paul get his head bashed by that dude.

Logan and Jake Paul are just like those annoying noisy neighbors you wish would someday be abducted by aliens. Problem solved! The thing with the Pauls is that it’s likely even extraterrestrial beings don’t want them. And so we are left with them here, as they continue to try luring pros who’s got some significant clout to a fight. That’s just how fame works today, according to the internet.

Dana White holds an answer to the Pauls. Although he had adamantly stated recently that he has zero interest in doing business with them, it’s a tune that fight fans from both the MMA and boxing worlds are immensely familiar with. Who knows if Dana White is merely starting to plant the seeds and gauge the buzz for a potential partnership with Jake Paul.

I say right now, you can give it a 1-50 odds that Dana White will one day emerge out of his office and yell at his secretary to contact whoever it is that’s playing the Don King to the Pauls careers because he’s given the prospect of letting Kamaru Usman have his hands on the YouTuber enough thought.

In other words, this is betting on the idea that Dana White will ultimately find it impossible to turn down the money such a fight could generate.

Logan and Jake Paul both know that they are sitting on arguably the biggest reserve of schadenfreude in the history of fight sports. This is also precisely the reason why the Logan Paul-Floyd Mayweather showdown could be one of the richest ever. If you’re someone who’s been praying for the day to come when either Logan’s or Jake’s teeth will get smashed inside, this could be it.

I mean, wouldn’t you at least want to see that happen to a person with this kind of picture on his Boxrec profile? On the other hand, there are people who would pay good money just to have a chance to watch Mayweather potentially lose to a joke.

Mayweather will likely win in June, but I just don’t see Pretty Boy doing enough damage that would make either Paul legitimately wonder whether it’s worth putting their health at risk for the sake of money. Mayweather is definitely in it purely to make millions. He’ll be content with toying with Logan and make him look stupid for 12 rounds. He’ll flick some quick right jabs here and there while letting Paul take strong swings in the air. You can take that narrative to the bank.

In a recent appearance at the Disruptive Entrepreneur podcast, Mayweather basically said what we all know about his motivation to square off with Logan Paul (h/t Michael Benson of Talk Sports).

“I can eventually probably make $50million, for just a regular fight. Or me and Logan Paul can go out, entertain, have fun and make nine figures $100million or more. Everybody thinks that ‘retired’ means at home with your feet up and picking up weight. I prefer to go out, still entertain and have fun. Just because I still go out, entertain and have fun doesn’t mean that I still wanna fight for 12 rounds. I think we’ve got a six-round exhibition. I think it’s gonna be very entertaining for the people, I think people are gonna love it. $35million for 12 rounds or $100million for six rounds – big difference.”

Mayweather isn’t going to be the cure for the Pauls. It’s Kamaru Usman who can put a stop to this. Even though Dana White supposedly doesn't like talking business with the Pauls, you simply won’t believe what $100 million can do to make someone’s stance get turned 180 degrees. Again, that’s how Mayweather said yes to joining Logan Paul in an upcoming circus act.

For now, Usman thinks of Jake Paul as an artificial bloodstain in the combat world that he is very much willing to get rid off.  Jake already had a bit of success in getting to the head of the Nigerian Nightmare, as you could detect from this Usman quote via Brett Okamoto of ESPN:

“That kid is dangerously close to taking me to that violent place. He has no business mentioning my name in his mouth. And now he's putting pictures of me and my family out, so it's starting to slowly shift to that place where it could be a problem.”

That's a pretty strong message from Usman, who's basically telling Paul to back the expletive off and mind his own business unless he really wants to get crippled.

Usman doesn’t have to fight Jake. He’s fresh off a brutal knockout win over Jorge Masvidal and would rather focus on the next challenger than worry about a TikToker.

But once Dana White completely gets his head around how much dough the world is willing to spend to see Usman — a real, active fighter who’s got zero incentive to lose in this kind of match — beat the lights out of Jake Paul, get your PPV money ready because we’re about to see the exact moment a YouTuber regret his decision to wade into this game.
