All of the hype surrounding Daniel Jones' fantastic Week 3 start has died down in a sea of mediocre performances. The New York Giants remain at the wrong end of the NFC East rankings, and postseason play will remain a pipe dream they can only hope to achieve in the future.

However, a new game always means a brand-new opportunity to prove himself. Their upcoming game against the Detroit Lions is the perfect opportunity for the rookie signal-caller to make his impact felt throughout the league and cement his place as the undoubted starter for the Giants franchise.

Here are some things that could happen during Jones' first bout with the Detroit Lions.

Jones will finish with a 75% pass completion rate after 40 passes

Jones is not the first person people think of whenever great young quarterbacks are the topic of conversation. After all, his performances in the pocket dipped to middling rookie numbers after his breakout game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If there's one thing that's affected his poor performances, fingers will be pointed to his pass completion rate. He's been throwing a meager 61% percent for the six games he's played so far this season. His Week 6 outing against the New England Patriots was especially terrible as he only completed 48% of his 31 pass attempts.

Fortunately for him, the Lions are one of the worst pass defense team in the league. They allow an average of 289 passing yards after seven weeks of football, the most in the NFL. As he chooses his passes well, he should be able to play better.

Jones will not finish with an interception

Another glaring issue that has affected the sixth overall pick is his interception rate. He has never gone a game without throwing an interception. It's understandable that he threw three against the Patriots' defense, but it's simply unacceptable to throw picks twice against the Washington Redskins of all teams.

If he wants to become a top quarterback opposing head coaches will be afraid of, he needs to throw better balls. Jones must avoid giving up the ball too often and throw picks.

Fortunately for Giants fans, it seems he stabilized a bit in their narrow loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Playing against the third-weakest pass defense in the league gives him the perfect opportunity to finish a game without an interception for the first time since Week 1.

Jones will get a 100 QB rating

Saquon Barkley is getting back into shape and should be in top form come Sunday. The team is slowly getting things together. Everything will be set up for Jones to have a good game.

It will be up to him to make that a reality. There's a reason to believe that he will definitely finish with a 100 QB rating at the end of this game.
