The Philadelphia 76ers have managed to gather an abundance of assets over the last few years and this summer is no different. The team that had an unenviable record of 10-72 acquired the #1 pick, LSU’s Ben Simmons and it seems to be paying off. In summer league, Simmons has displayed the kind of court vision that people expected.

Later in the draft, Philadelphia picked up Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot with the 24th pick and Furkan Korkmaz with at 26. Korkmaz has recently decided to continue playing in Turkey for another year, ensuring that he is as NBA-ready as possible when he eventually takes the leap. This is a move that is not dissimilar to that of Croatian power forward, Dario Saric, who was drafted in 2015 by the Sixers and happens to have been Korkmaz’s teammate for Anadolu Efes during the 2015-16 season.

As reported by Eurohoops.net, Saric has confirmed that it's the right time for him to head to the USA. His decision to make the move comes off the back of an incredibly impressive performance in the qualifier tournament ahead of the Rio Olympics. The big man seems to be as ready as he will ever be to play at the highest level; he averaged a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds over the four-game Olympic qualifying tournament, earning himself the MVP honor.

The 22 year old will be joining a young roster that seems to still be going through the infamous ‘process’ put into place by their management. The Sixers have a lot of talent with Simmons, last year’s third overall pick Jahlil Okafor, and shot blocker Nerlens Noel; plus, they are awaiting the debut of long-injured big man Joel Embiid.

Saric possesses the ability to make big shots for his team. He shows great leadership ability too and fans in Philadelphia will be hoping these traits translate to the NBA.
