Death Stranding isn't going to be done with the release of the Director's Cut. Death Stranding 2 was confirmed by Sam Porter Bridges himself.

In an interview with Brazilian AdoroCinema, Norman Reedus, who provided the motion capture and voice acting for protagonist Sam Porter Bridges, admits that he thinks “we're doing a second Death Stranding.” The basically means Death Stranding 2 confirmed, right? He continues, saying: “[The game] is in negotiations right now, so… yay!”

Meanwhile, Kojima Productions have not made any comment on these rumors yet. Hideo Kojima is the father of Metal Gear Solid, however, and that turned into a long series. If Death Stranding is going to be a new series, too, then that would make a lot of fans happy.

Tech reporter Zuby_Tech on Twitter supports this rumor as well. Posting on Twitter, they report that Death Stranding is among the titles allegedly confirmed based on different job listings. The list includes MARVEL's Spider-Man 2Sunset Overdrive 2Ghost of Tsushima 2Bloodborne 2, Returnal 2Astro Bot Rescue Mission 2Blood & Truth 2Sly Cooper 5, and Horizon 3, all for the PS5.

Now, if only Kojima can confirm this too, then we're off to a great life for the PS5. We'd still love to see a potential Silent Hills game from him, though, but that seems to be out of the table already.
