Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, who also serves as the head coach of the Jackson State football program, was furious over no HBCU athletes getting picked up in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Primetime took to Instagram to voice his displeasure on Monday, stating that he saw numerous players on other HBCU's even that were more than worthy of getting selected in the draft:

Washington Football Team advisor Doug Williams was not pleased about the HBCU's essentially being neglected, per to the Washington Post.
““It’s hard to believe that not one guy is worthy of being drafted,” said Williams. “That to me, that’s a travesty. Hopefully, we can fix it.”
Williams himself is an alumnus of Grambling State University and is the first black QB to ever win a Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, North Carolina Central cornerback Bryan Mills was expected to be snagged in the latter rounds, but he ultimately settled for signing an undrafted free agent deal, joining four others from Historically Black schools in doing so.
Although zero HBCU players were drafted in the NFL this year, some have signed with teams as UDFAs:

David Moore, Grambling – Panthers
Calvin Ashley, FAMU – Bucs

It was a tough season for HBCU players though because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They usually play their season in the fall but due to the virus, it was moved to the spring. That meant seniors had to either forego their final year of eligibility to workout for NFL teams or not play at all and hope an organization liked them enough to pick them in the draft.
Sanders meanwhile, just finished his first season as the head coach of Jackson State, compiling a 7-5 record overall. Hopefully, with his presence in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, more NFL scouts will make the trip down and consider some of these HBCU players in the coming years.
