The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to wrap up an inter-league series against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday and could be set for a significant boost to the lineup. Dave Roberts revealed that Max Muncy is wrapping up his rehab stint at Triple-A Oklahoma City and will most likely be back in the lineup for the series finale.

While Roberts didn't commit to inserting Muncy back into the lineup on Thursday, he did say that his rehab stint would be wrapping up on Wednesday. He'll be available to play in the series finale against the White Sox, though the Dodgers may opt to keep him on the bench for one more day instead of slotting him in.

Muncy has struggled this season, slashing .150/.327/.263 with 3 home runs, 14 RBI, and 21 runs scored. He has 37 strikeouts and 34 walks across 41 games, but has failed to deliver on his usual power at the plate. Last year, Muncy clubbed 36 home runs, the third time in four years he'd put up 35+ bombs in a season. He will almost certainly fall short of that this year, with just a few home runs under his belt over two months into the campaign.

Hopefully, his time away helped him get right and he'll be able to rediscover his usual potency at the dish in his return to the team. After the Dodgers finish up their series against the White Sox the club will head to San Francisco for a three-game set with the Giants, followed by a brief two-game series with the crosstown rival Angels.
