One perk of Miami Dolphins quarterback Jake Rudock is playing for his hometown team? The Miami native still gets to live at home with his parents.

Rudock told Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post that he is staying with his parents while he goes through offseason training in nearby Weston, Florida. Rudock said that the first couple of weeks are fine living with the parents, but after a few weeks it gets a little weird.

“They want me to live there forever, so we’ll see what happens,” Rudock said. “The first two weeks, it’s like ‘Yeah, this is normal.'

“I’d maybe come home for a week or two in college or in the offseason, come home for a week or two and then the third week you’re like, ‘Goodnight Mom. This is weird.'”

Rudock is currently competing with Luke Falk for the backup job behind offseason signee Ryan Fitzpatrick, but that could change. The draft is coming up and it would be a bit of a surprise if Miami didn't come away from the draft with at least one quarterback, even if it is in the later rounds.

Rudock has only made five passing attempts in his career, all of which ame in 2017 with the Detroit Lions. He completed three of them for 24 yards and an interception.

The former Michigan Wolverines quarterback has a good shot to make the roster but he isn't a shoo-in, so maybe it is smart he crashes in his parents' basement until he finds out if he makes the Dolphins' final roster.
