The Miami Dolphins are already down their quarterback with Tua Tagovailoa recovering from a rib injury. Now they'll have to make do without arguably their top wide receiver in DeVante Parker as well.

The Dolphins wideout has been downgraded to out for their matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a lingering hamstring issue, as reported by ESPN's Jeff Darlington.

Bad news for Dolphins WR DeVante Parker, who’d hoped to test his hamstring today and potentially play. He woke up tight, and I’m told he is now going to be OUT today without any pregame warmup.

Parker was Miami's top target last season, amassing the highest receiving yards total (793) and a team-high 63 receptions in 2020. Through the Dolphins' first four contests, Parker has led the team in targets (32) and total receiving yards (242).

Without one of their main receivers, the Dolphins will have to adopt the next-man-up mentality rather quickly. First-round pick Jaylen Waddle will have to prove his worth early if they have any hopes of knocking off the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers.

Waddle leads the team in receptions with 25 thus far and is expected to be the clear first option with Parker out for at least Week 5.
