With the 2021 NFL trade deadline right around the corner, rumors continue swirling about the Miami Dolphins potentially trading for the Houston Texans disgruntled star, Deshaun Watson. Despite that, Miami's current quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been playing rather well.
According to Barry Jackson, Tagovailoa is, of course, well aware of the trade rumors dominating the NFL news cycle. Despite that, Tua seems confident he'll remain as the starting quarterback of the Dolphins.
He shrugs off questions about whether team should publicly say they won't pursue Watson. (Dolphins obviously haven't.)
"I have utmost confidence and trust I am the quarterback of this team. Off conversations I've had with Flo,… I'm confident."— Barry Jackson (@flasportsbuzz) October 27, 2021
Tua Tagovailoa is being a true professional in regards to the Deshaun Watson rumors. Rather than getting caught up with the information, the Dolphins' current quarterback is more focused on playing football and leading his team. That's right where his head should be at, as there has been no solidifying news of a trade happening.
Tua said he never thinks about whether he or Watson will be Dolphins quarterback next week and beyond. Said he only wants agent to tell him Watson news if it's credible definitive news. Said he hears about Watson rumors only when team PR staff tells him it's out there.

At the same time, Tagovailoa provides an odd response when asked if he feels wanted by the Dolphins.
Does Tua feel wanted by the Dolphins amid the Watson rumors? His answer: "I don't not feel wanted."

It's the use of the double-negative that makes it odd. However, he does seem interested to continue playing for the Dolphins. Although Deshaun Watson would be an upgrade for Miami, his current legal issues could prevent a deal from being reached.
For now, Tagovailoa remains on the Dolphins while Watson sits on the sidelines of the Houston Texans' bench. The NFL trade deadline is November 2nd. Once Week 8 comes to a conclusion, no trades are allowed to be made for the rest of the regular season.
These rumors will continue to make some noise until the trade either come to fruition or once the deadline has passed. It's important to note though, that head coach Brian Flores has been vocal in backing up Tua Tagovailoa. It could mean something, or it's simply a PR move. Either way, Miami as an organization has done a great job in covering up their potential interest in Deshaun Watson.
Keep an eye on these rumors, as official news could drop at any moment.
