The Miami Dolphins might be the NFL's flashiest team. From their uniforms to the speed of their players, almost everything about the Dolphins screams “Wow!”

NFL schedule release day has become an important day in the offseason calendar. All 32 teams brainstorm creative ideas on how to present the schedule and post it on social media. Some teams hit every year, while others are just as inconsistent in the quality of their social media work as they are on the field.

This year the Dolphins went for a simple approach and still were able to add a comedic edge to it, if you look at it that way. However, the majority seems to be leaning toward this being a miss by Miami and a sign of the franchise being lazy.

The Dolphins posted a 22-second video featuring Tyreek Hill and Raheem Mostert at a computer cutting video clips together. After the two share a brief exchange confirming their completion of the video, Miami's 2024 schedule scrolls quickly on the screen. It needs to be paused to read, but before you get a chance it is gone, with Hill and Mostert returning to the screen as Mostert gives an emphatic “It's perfect!”

The caption for the video is “The NFL’s fastest schedule release, brought to you by the NFL’s fastest team😎.” With most other teams going for a longer video of at least three minutes, Dolphins fans were none too pleased about their team's idea.

Dolphins receive backlash for schedule video

Though there were some positive reactions to the video, most of the comments on X were negative toward Miami's schedule post.

@JeffHerrman2 said “Aaaannnnnnddd…..the dolphins have already disappointed me this season….”

Others went with the GIF approach, keeping their roast just as simple as the Dolphins' video.

Dolphins fan Job Robbie offered a potential suggestion for next year's video, saying “Coulda had a team relay racing from city to city type s*** or somethin….”

Alright, so it was a miss by the Dolphins, but every team has a social media post from time to time that gets a ton of criticism. Miami's was amplified a bit given it is one of the most anticipated days of the NFL offseason.

Some people were upset that they couldn’t read the schedule, which is understandable. The Dolphins did post an image of the 18-week schedule five minutes later, so fans weren’t totally out of the loop for too long.

Coming off an 11-win season and a first-round playoff exit, the Dolphins will have similar expectations with hopes of securing at least one playoff win in 2024. It's been 23 years since Miami's last playoff win. Anything less than breaking that streak this season would be a disappointment.

The Dolphins have a pretty light schedule coming in ranked 24th in strength of schedule. They play six playoff teams from a season ago and face other tough opponents who should be playoff contenders this year, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks to name a few.

Miami has an early bye in Week 6 which may come back to bite them later in the season, especially if they expect to make the playoffs again. The Dolphins also don’t have the benefit of an extra home game this year, playing eight at home with nine scheduled road contests.

Three of their last four games are on the road as well and three of those four are against playoff teams from last year.

The Dolphins could find themselves in a three-way race for the AFC East title and a playoff spot with the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets. The Bills are the favorites but only slightly and the Jets might still be the Jets even with a healthy Aaron Rodgers.

Miami could take pole position in the division early with a Week 2 win over the Bills. After that, the Dolphins will have to find a similar stretch to the one they had last season when they won five of six from Week 11 to Week 16.

Perhaps the social media team isn’t quite up to standard yet, but the team the Dolphins field in 2024 should be fun to watch and could become a serious threat in the AFC playoff picture.
