It has been just over a week since former Pro Bowl running back DeMarco Murray was released by the Tennessee Titans after just two seasons with the team. He has entered free agency and made a few visits around the league to teams that need help in the backfield.

This marks just the second time in his career that he has been able to hit the open market to assess the best situation for his NFL future. According to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post, the 30-year-old has now lined up a meeting with the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Murray has been busy in free agency, securing visits with the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions over the last several days.

The Dolphins could use another reliable player in the backfield alongside Kenyan Drake following Jay Ajayi's departure. The 24-year-old Drake is coming off a career-high 644 rushing yards last season. A sizeable chunk of that production came in the final five weeks of the year with him holding primary back duties with 444 rushing yards coming over that stretch with a pair of 100-yard performances.

The potential addition of Murray could be just to provide more depth at the position as he would likely play a secondary role or split carries at this point in time. Keep in mind, he is coming off the least productive campaign of his career where he notched career lows with 659 rushing yards on just 3.6 yards per carry in 15 games played. He also posted more than 100 yards only once and failed to crack 70 yards in every other contest. On top of that, his season was cut short due to a torn MCL in his right knee that he suffered in Week 16 against the Los Angeles Rams.

That said, this could simply be another visit just so that he has a few options before making his decision on where he will play next season and likely beyond that.
