The Miami Dolphins apparently really want LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow has been continuously linked with the Cincinnati Bengals, who possess the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday night. But Miami's insistence to nab the reigning Heisman Trophy winner has found a new layer, which includes trading up for the No. 3 overall pick in the Draft—while retaining No. 5— in the hopes of persuading Cincinnati to part with the Burrow selection, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

The Dolphins appear to be a likely landing spot for a quarterback early in the draft. After previously been linked to Oregon's Justin Herbert and Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa for the majority of the offseason, Miami has reportedly ramped up its pursuit of the top pick as of late. Whether they're able to convince both Detroit to part with the No. 3 pick, and then ultimately Cincinnati with the No. 1 pick, remains to be seen.

Miami is currently positioned with three first-round selections Thursday—Nos. 5, 18 and 26. Coming off of a 5-11 campaign in 2019, the team could use some immediate upgrades on both sides of the ball, but it appears that they may be willing to move considerable draft capital in order to acquire the premier signal-caller that they desire.

Whether or not the Dolphins are still interested in acquiring the No. 3 selection if it means they'll have to make the pick themselves remains to be seen. Either way, expect Miami to be the team to watch Thursday as they look to secure their future for 2020 and beyond.
