Dortmund's star striker, Erling Haaland, will miss “a couple of weeks” due to a hip muscle injury.

Dortmund manager Marco Rose announced to the media his star's injury, explaining Haaland's experience while falling 4-0 to Ajax in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

“Erling will be out, we'll be without him for a couple of weeks even,” Rose told a news conference.

“He has a hip flexor injury which simply doesn't make it possible for him to play. It's the same thigh, but another location.”

“Erling was really down yesterday because he was happy to be back again,” Rose added. “That he is out again is not good for us, it's not great for the lad, but Erling will get all the support he needs from the club, from the team.”

This year, the Norweigan star is on a mission, posting monster stats with nine goals in six matches for Dortmund this Bundesliga season. Indeed, the club hopes that an injury like this wouldn't thwart the star's production this year.

Haaland will miss significant clashes in the Bundesliga against Arminia Bielefeld and a rematch against Ajax in the Champions League.

Despite numerous transfer rumors, Haaland is consistently performing for Dortmund as the club is currently placed second in the league table— one point behind defending champions Bayern Munich.
