Valve honors Aldrin Paulo “Dunoo” Pangan, a Filipino shoutcaster who died last week. In Dota 2‘s recent Dota Plus Fall Update, Valve returns the iconic Dunoo voice lines back as part of the Dota Plus rewards.
The new Dota 2 season gave Valve the opportunity for this tribute. The game gets new content whenever Valve gives their Dota Plus service an update. This time around, they added Dunoo voice lines as part of the Guild perks, as part of the Platinum-tier rewards. Three iconic voice lines were added, namely:
- “LAKAD MATATAG! Normalin, Normalin.”
- “Easiest money of my life!”
- “The next level play!”
Dunoo's partnership with co-caster Marlon “Lon” Marcelo resulted in iconic voice lines such as the ones above. Dunoo's passing has led to an outpour of tributes from Dota 2 fans both in the Philippines as well as in the international scene. Valve recognizing Dunoo's contributions to the Dota 2 community through this is a nice gesture. It not only validates Dunoo's skills as a shoutcaster, it also cements his legacy in esports.
The Dota Plus Fall Update is now live, which contains new seasonal treasure, as well as an upgrade in the game's Dota Plus Item Assistant. The seasonal chat wheels from the Nemestice Battle Pass can now also be bought from the Dota Plus store.
