LeBron James handed a good beating to the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night. While that was nearing an end, his good friend Dwyane Wade flocked to Twitter to show support.
Wade, who's probably out somewhere chilling, tweeted out:
It was short yet potent with meaning. James almost single-handedly ripped off the Raptors' heart with his impeccable performance. He finished the game with 43 points, 14 assists, and eight rebounds in 40 minutes. He also shot 67.9 percent from the field.
More importantly, the Cavaliers won, 128-110, and now have a 2-0 series lead against the number one seed in the Eastern Conference.
As part of his scoring outburst, James notched in 15 points in the third quarter alone. This was the quarter where the Cavaliers broke away from the Raptors and never looked back. They outscored the Raptors 37-24 in the third.
This is not the first time that Wade publicly voiced out his praise for his best friend. Numerous interviews with him complimenting James have made several rounds online.
The competition might be stiff when they're playing against in each other. But at the end of the day, the two are great friends who will support each other no matter what.
Per Andre C. Fernandez of the Miami Herald, Wade spoke once about James' durability even after 15 years in the league, while sneaking in some jokes on the side:
“He may never slow down. He may retire and he can still go for 20 a night. You just never know with him. But he's definitely blessed though, man. Not even to have a hamstring strain. He twists his ankles, he can roll his ankle nine straight games in a row and just tie his shoe up tighter and just go. I always tell him, ‘God blessed him with everything but a hairline.’”
