Alshon Jeffery made an appearance on the Philadelphia Eagles' injury report earlier in the week with an ankle injury. After missing Friday's practice, Jeffery has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the New England Patriots per Michael Giardi.

During the Eagles' bye week in Week 10, the veteran wide receiver was attempting to get himself in position to play versus the Patriots. However, the injury appears to be serious enough to warrant sitting him out in Week 11.

So far this season, Jeffery has produced 34 receptions for 353 yards and three touchdowns. While those numbers may seem low, both his receptions and yards are second on the team; only behind Zach Ertz.

With DeSean Jackson already on injured reserve, Philadelphia is becoming incredibly thin at the wide receiver position. Due to the injuries, it's likely that we see Nelson Agholor, J.J. Arcega Whiteside, and newly signed Jordan Matthews.

Matthews is beginning his third stint with the Eagles, thus making it likely that he won't need much time to get acclimated into the offense. Especially considering the fact that he was with Philadelphia in 2018.

The injury to Jeffery comes at an unfortunate time with the Eagles set to take on the 8-1 Patriots. Even after losing to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9, New England has the second-best pass defense in the NFL and still leads the league with 27 takeaways.

Provided that, it could be a nightmarish day for Carson Wentz and the Eagles offense. Besides Jeffery, Philadelphia will also be without Darren Sproles and Nigel Bradham on Sunday.
