Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is finally making his way back to the field after recovering from an ankle injury that kept him out for several weeks, per NFL Network‘s Tom Pelissero. His return will come just in time for the Eagles' crucial slate against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16.

Jackson was previously placed on the team's injured reserve list after fracturing his ankle back in Week 7 against the New York Giants. He left the game with a meager output of 34 yards on three receptions before he went on to miss the Eagles' next games.

The three-time Pro Bowler has already been riddled with injuries for the past three seasons where he only appeared in a total of 18 games due to a handful of lower-body injuries.

His return will potentially serve as a boost to an Eagles' receiver corps that has been struggling in recent weeks. However, Jalen Hurts' recent promotion as the team's QB1 managed to give the entire unit a new lease on life despite the many injuries to their key players.

After their most recent loss against the Arizona Cardinals, the Eagles now settle as the bottom-feeders in the NFC East with a 4-9-1 record. With tight competition in the division, the team can still reach the top of the standings if they win their final two games while hoping that their rivals drop their own tilts as well.

Even with slim chances of making it to the postseason, the Eagles are still looking forward to concluding their subpar campaign on a strong note and generating significant momentum for the next season.
