LeSean McCoy started his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, and now he's going to end it with the franchise. The Eagles announced Thursday the running back will return and retire with the team:

McCoy will be honored at halftime of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Philadelphia drafted LeSean McCoy in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Pitt. He almost immediately blossomed into one of the best running backs in the NFL, leading the league in rushing touchdowns with 17 in 2011 and then leading the league in rushing yards with 1,607 in 2013.

As a member of the Eagles, McCoy made three Pro Bowls and was named First-Team All-Pro twice. In addition to being an excellent runner, he was also a threat out of the backfield. In 2013, he also had 539 receiving yards, giving him over 2,100 yards from scrimmage on the season.

LeSean McCoy was traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2015, and he made three more Pro Bowls with the franchise. His last season with the Bills came in 2018. He then spent 2019 with the Chiefs and got his first Super Bowl ring and then followed that up with another ring as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, though he didn't play in either Super Bowl. The running back almost returned to the Eagles before joining Tampa Bay.

The 33-year-old is now calling it quits after an impressive career. He's the Eagles' all-time leading rusher and a two-time Super Bowl champ.
