The Philadelphia Eagles came into Super Bowl LII against the defending champion New England Patriots as heavy underdogs with a backup quarterback leading the way in the form of veteran Nick Foles.

The team embraced their role as the underdog throughout the postseason following the season-ending knee injury to MVP candidate, Carson Wentz. Foles, who recently considered retirement after a few failed stints around the league, flourished as the team's starter and led them to a title while earning Super Bowl MVP honors.

On Monday, Foles accepted his MVP trophy in a press conference and shared quite the inspiring message, via Sam Farmer of the L.A. Times.

On the brink of an uncertain future in the NFL, Foles redefined his career winning a Super Bowl in thrilling fashion for a fanbase in Philadelphia as passionate as any. His road to success was as tough as it comes as he bounces around the league looking for another opportunity and found just that in the wake of a devastating injury to one of the most promising and talented quarterbacks the NFL has seen in recent memory.

The question now is where do the Eagles and Foles go from here. Wentz is clearly the future of the franchise and the veteran has shown he's still got something left in the tank.

Fortunately for Foles, he's become a hot commodity once again and with many teams in the league needing help at quarterback he may find yet another opportunity if Philadelphia finds trade packages too good to pass up on.
