The versatile new Portland Trail Blazers signing, Evan Turner, could see some minutes at the point guard position, according to head coach Terry Stotts (via RotoWire).

While Turner figures to see most of his time at the small forward and shooting guard positions, his vision and playmaking instincts make him a good fit to lead the offense – especially if he's sharing the court with a scorer like C.J. McCollum. McCollum handled most of the back-up point guard duties last season when staggered into the second unit.

The 6-foot-7 Ohio State product will provide a Nicolas Batum-esque skill set on offense, allowing the team to rotate and create opportunities in a set, instead of isolation plays.

Shabazz Napier‘s minutes could be at risk if Stotts heavily favors Evan Turner to run plays for the team. Napier would become expendable with Allen Crabbe potentially slated to start at the three because of his long-range prowess, leaving Turner as a sixth man capable of playing spots 1-through-3.
