The Atlanta Falcons have a significant problem to fix with regard to Julio Jones. The star wide receiver has skipped the team’s whole offseason program-including mandatory minicamp-as he attempts to land a much-improved deal.

But head coach Dan Quinn has brought some good news for any Falcons fans getting concerned about the whole situation surrounding their superstar wideout.

“The good news is that there are conversations that have begun,” Quinn said, via D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We’ll keep those private. I have a lot of faith in the organization and also in Julio that things will get resolved with good communications. I’m sure that’ll be a part of it as well.”

It’s certainly a promising start that the Falcons have at least begun discussions with Jones and his representation about a possible resolution to this problem. Jones remains a pivotal player on the team, andy need him to remain a happy camper once training camp rolls around.

To the Falcons’ credit, they have usually taken care of their stars financially (see: Matt Ryan this year and Devonta Freeman in 2017). Perhaps that’s why Quinn sounds so confident that everything will work out in the end.

Based on Quinn’s comments, as well as Matt Ryan’s belief that Jones will join him during his passing camp just ahead of camp, it seems as though Jones should be ready to show up in time for training camp next month. But if he doesn't, then Falcons fans should probably start being more concerned.
