Deion Jones is on the verge of signing a new deal with the Atlanta Falcons. According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the fourth-year veteran could put pen to paper on a lucrative, multi-year extension with the Falcons as early as Wednesday.

Deion Jones’ agent Drew Rosenhaus is reportedly in town and the parties could reach a deal by end of business on Wednesday.

Jones is entering the final season of the four-year, $4.5 million deal he signed with Atlanta after being selected with the No. 52 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. He's one of several impact players who has engaged in contract discussions with the Falcons this offseason, including superstar wide receiver Julio Jones and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, who signed a four-year, $68 million extension with the team on Monday.

Regardless of how extension talks progress from here, Jones has made it clear he hopes to remain in Atlanta for the foreseeable future, alluding to the “brotherhood” shared between he and his teammates that's constantly championed by coach Dan Quinn.

“The connection that we’ve made through ball,” he said. “Like I said, we really believe in the Brotherhood. The time that I’ve had with them has been great so far. I don’t want it to end to tell you the truth.”

Jones, 24, has been one of the league's most productive middle linebackers in the NFL after winning a starting job during his inaugural training camp. He helped the Falcons to the Super Bowl as a rookie and made his first Pro Bowl the following season, but played in just six games last year due to a foot injury, finishing with 53 tackles, two interceptions, and six passes defensed.
