The New England Patriots are anxiously waiting for a decision from Tom Brady and a former player believes his decision can change the entire outlook of the franchise. Former New England linebacker, Rob Ninkovich, believes that losing Brady would hurt the Patriots' ability to attract free agents.

Per Karen Guregian in the Boston Herald:

“It’s going to be difficult to try and bring everybody back. I would think if Tom comes back, one of those other players comes back,” [Former Patriots linebacker Rob] Ninkovich said via Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald of their passel of free agents. “But if Tom doesn’t come back, I don’t know if those guys are going to want to stick around. Because what’s the outlook for the team? Is it a rebuilding phase? What happens moving forward?

For years, the Patriots have been a popular destination for players that are longing for a chance to win a Super Bowl. However, if Brady departs this offseason, veteran players may no longer see New England as a desired destination.

Also, the Patriots have a few other notable free agents that could be headed elsewhere in 2020. Besides Brady, Devin McCourty, Jamie Collins, and a couple of other high-profile players are set to hit free agency this offseason.

In the event that Brady leaves, New England's marquee free agents could also choose to sign somewhere else. With the Patriots not having a plan in place if Brady leaves, it's unclear what their future would entail without Brady.

There's a decent chance that if Brady leaves that it would be tougher to lure prominent free agents. That is exactly why the Patriots are keen on re-signing Brady so he can finish his career in Foxborough.
