Rafael dos Anjos put on a dominant display against Renato Moicano at UFC 272. There was a lot of talk about him letting off of the gas in the fifth round and Chael Sonnen is among those people praising him.

Chael Sonnen believes it shows how much of a gentleman Rafael dos Anjos is as he didn't look to maul his opponent after a tough fight. The co-main event of UFC 272 was quite the display as it seemed like a finish, or even a doctor stoppage, was inevitable.

“The only reason that fifth round was competitive is because RDA, in addition to every other beautiful thing I said about him, also happens to be a gentleman,” the former UFC title challenger said on his YouTube channel. “He also happens to be a sportsman. He happened to respect what was going on, whether agreed with it or not, he’s gonna make the best of it, he’s going to fix the situation himself. That’s what happened there.”

Renato Moicano was stepping up on short notice and did not have the opportunity to train for the fight. Rafael Fiziev was originally supposed to fight Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 272 before an injury forced him out of the matchup.

It is not clear what is next for Renato Moicano but he will need plenty of time off as he looks to heal from the very tough fight at UFC 272. Rafael dos Anjos, on the other hand, is hoping for a fight against Conor McGregor next.
