Formula 1 and Red Bull driver Sergio Perez reacts to narrowly missing pole position at the US Grand Prix, after qualifying behind teammate Max Verstappen and Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.
Perez had a decent practice session and hoped to garner a pole position for the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. However, his teammate, Max Verstappen, is just too quick, breaking Mercedes' pole position streak in the United States.

But still, I think we are in a good position, I think it's going to be a pretty long race tomorrow, not too concerned about the qualifying, I think there is plenty of opportunities for tomorrow.”
With fans anticipating another classic Hamilton vs. Verstappen crash, Perez isn't too far away as he starts at P3, slightly ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc sitting at P4.
However, with Verstappen and Hamilton gunning for the championship this year, the Mexican may have to make a herculean effort to win this race.
“Well [I need to] maximize every single opportunity, I think there is a long race ahead of us tomorrow and hopefully we can bring a one-two for the team tomorrow.”
As of now, Perez stands at fifth place of the driver standings in Formula 1, with hopes of contributing a constructor championship for Red Bull, who sits at second behind Mercedes.
