Fortnite Season 8 is just around the corner, and it looks like Epic Games plans to end Season 7 with a bang – a limited-time event, Operation Sky Fire will serve as the grand finale. It will be a live one-time event that will not be replayable. It begins on September 12, 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET.
The official post on the Operation Sky Fire event sets up the premise:
“With the Mothership’s sights set on the Imagined Order’s secret base at Corny Complex, Slone has hatched a plan to end the Invasion once and for all. You’ve answered her calls, worked as an undercover agent for the IO – now it’s time to infiltrate The Last Reality and put a stop to the Alien’s occupation.”
Fortnite Operation Sky Fire Event: September 12, 2021
The Fortnite Operation Sky Fire event playlist will become available for players 30 minutes before the start time so that they may queue up and reserve their spots. The event can be played by a full lobby of 16 players. Additionally, there will be no replays available for the event, so content creators will need to record their gameplay through some other means.
In the lead-up to Fortnite Operation Sky Fire, island residents and vending machines will be offering discounts. A Bargain Bin Wild Week event will start on September 9 at 10 AM ET to facilitate this. A new Legendary Quest will reward you for spending your Bars with some final XP for the Battle Pass.
Additionally, Epic reminds players to complete any Epic Quests and exchange Battle Starts for the rewards they want. They should do this before the Fortnite Operation Sky Fire event begins. This includes spending any remaining Alien Artifacts. Unclaimed Battle Stars or Alien Artifacts will be automatically redeemed for rewards and styles. This will start with the earliest available unlocks.
Moreover, the Superman Quests will no longer be available once the Fortnite Operation Sky Fire event begins. Players that want to unlock their special glider, pickaxe, and shadow style should remember to finish these beforehand.
Lastly, quests that are not a part of the Battle Pass, like LeBron James or Vox Hunter will still be available for next season. This means that players looking out for those don't need to be in any rush.
