World No. 1 Iga Swiatek did not disappoint on Saturday, winning her second French Open title in convincing fashion. The Pole beat Coco Gauff in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, to notch her 35th victory in a row. That tied Venus Williams for the longest unbeaten streak in WTA history.
Following her French Open masterpiece, Swiatek was of course asked numerous questions by reporters during the press conference. But none was weirder than this one, where this person literally wanted to know if the tennis star puts on makeup before she goes out on the town. You have to see it to believe it.
Swiatek was undoubtedly confused by the question and simply responded with “Okay, thank you.”
The French Open winner was likely expecting questions strictly about tennis, not her beauty regimen. Nevertheless, it was a terrific day for the 21-year-old, who has now won six titles straight.
She captured trophies in Doha, Miami, Indian Wells, Stuttgart, and Rome before Roland Garros. While Swiatek only has two Grand Slams to her name, both in Paris, she's truly playing the best tennis of her life right now and will go into Wimbledon later this month as a heavy favorite to win it all. As for the reporter, well, he/she better reconsider their questions next time around. Just so off-topic.
