With the recent movements in the League of Legends scene caused by the transfer window deadline, comes an opportunity for G2 Esports to display their signature trolling antics on social media. They jokingly made an announcement on Twitter, calling out esports journalist Jacob “JacobWolf” Wolf, for secretly hiding their decision in declaring their Chief Executive Officer, Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago as a free agent.

Ocelote responded with laughter. G2 followed up with the usual farewell remarks.

But it never ends there as G2 kept responding on almost every Tweet. G2's Fortnite prodigy, Kevin “LeTsHe” Fedjuschkin declared himself as CEO, where the organization responded that they will see him in his hometown.
See you in Berlin, boss

Jake Lucky, a notable content creator and esports talk show host asked the organization to mention, “cap” before he Tweets. He immediately gets a contradictory response.
no cap

The banter carried on with some fans joining along the pranks because Ocelote has decided to become a meme.

G2 even retweeted their own post, which even drew some added attention from the community.

Some have carried on with G2's trolling campaign by mentioning soccer superstar Lionel Messi as the organization's content creator.

G2's false announcement has caught the attention of the community, earning at around 3.5K Likes and a hundred retweets. These numbers will surely balloon given the intent as well as the organization's reputation. Ocelote definitely kept the fans in good spirit despite their underwhelming run at Worlds 2020. Though G2 are known for their sense of humor, their approach has likewise drawn some controversy which was evident during the 2019 Worlds tournament when they insulted fan favorite T1. Their identity may have caused some members from the community to view them as pranksters, however their recent performances in LEC and Worlds have made them a respectable opposition.
