The Genshin Impact Version 2.7 livestream and update itself is confirmed to be delayed.

According to the announcement Tweet by the official Genshin Impact account, “due to project progress, the Version 2.7 update will be postponed.” No estimated date of the update was given. “For detailed information on the date of the new update, content adjustment plan, and compensation, please stay tuned for upcoming announcements,” the announcement added.

It is widely accepted that the reason for this is the rising COVID-19 cases in Genshin Impact developers HoYoverse's main country of operations, China – however, no official announcement pointing out the reason for the delay was made.

It is currently unknown what the delay means for the scheduled banners and events, but the ongoing Kamisato Ayaka banner seems to last only 3 weeks total. According to speculations, the delay can last from a week up to three weeks, the length of an entirely new banner.
