Kirby's Dream Buffet is this year's surprise Kirby game that came out of nowhere. Here is when the Kirby's Dream Buffet release date will be.
Kirby's Dream Buffet Release Date: Summer 2022
Obstacle-course-focused Kirby-themed game Kirby's Dream Buffet hits the Nintendo Switch exclusively this Summer 2022. This will be the third Kirby title made exclusively for the Switch.
If you've ever felt too stressed and just wanted to be a ball rolling around and devouring everything you see, then Kirby's Dream Buffet is the game for you. In this decadent game, up to four players compete in 4 rounds of Fall Guys-esque stages, rolling on food-covered platforms, and devouring everything in their path. Like a snowball rolling downhill, the Kirbys grow bigger and bigger as they consume more sweets, and the biggest, fattest, roundest Kirby at the end of each round wins.
After the four rounds, players get one last chance at victory. On top of the cake tower, the four Kirbys will then roll against each other, trying to send them flying off the ring, sumo-style.
The four players will be able to play locally offline, although it also seems like an online game mode will be available at launch. On top of the game's release, Nintendo will also be marketing a Kirby-themed Pro Controller and Switch carrying pouch. The release date for these two accessories is not yet announced.
Kirby made modest waves earlier this year with the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, also exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. While Kirby's Dream Buffet is more catered toward the casual audience, Kirby and the Forgotten Land features more adventurous gameplay, where Kirby explores a post-apocalyptic world and debuts ‘Mouthful Mode', where Kirby swallows whole objects like cars to temporarily gain their properties. Kirby and the Forgotten Land garnered high review scores and performed modestly commercially.
