It looks like Eli Manning will get to start at least one more game in front of his home crowd.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, New York Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones is expected to miss his team's Week 15 matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Sunday due to his high-ankle sprain, opening the door for Manning to play at MetLife Stadium for the first time since Week 2.

Jones suffered his ankle injury during the Giants' Week 13 loss to the Green Bay Packers and did not play this past Monday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Manning ended up getting his first start since being benched in favor of Jones back in Week 3 and had an impressive first half, completing 11 of his 19 passes for 179 yards and a couple of touchdowns. However, in the second half, Manning slowed down considerably, going just 4-for-11 with 24 yards in what ended up being a 23-17 overtime loss at Lincoln Financial Field.

There seems to be a chance that Jones may not only miss Week 15, but also the remainder of the season, as high-ankle sprains generally take several weeks to heal, and New York would naturally want to be cautious with its prized young signal-caller.

That means Manning has a shot at the farewell tour that he has never really wanted to begin with.

Up until the Giants inserted Jones into the starting lineup early this season and never looked back, Manning had been under center for New York since midway through his rookie year in 2004, leading Big Blue to a couple of Super Bowl titles along the way.
