Two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning of the New York Giants is entering unfamiliar territory in his NFL career. After being the longtime starter for New York at the quarterback position, Manning was sent to the bench last season by the eventually fired head coach, Ben McAdoo. Many believed this marked the end of an era in New York with Manning stuck on the sidelines before being given the starting job once again before the season ended.

Ultimately, the team had one of the worst seasons in recent memory finishing with only three wins and uncertainty about Manning's future moving forward. The veteran quarterback recently admitted he hasn't talked about his future with the team beyond 2018, via Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com.

“No,” Manning said. “This league, it's one year at a time. That's kind of how it goes. I need to go out there and play well this year, and that's all I'm looking forward to.”

With the Giants owning the No. 2 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, New York is expected to bring in Manning's successor. The first three picks in the upcoming draft could be all quarterbacks with the team potentially selecting one of a talented trio in Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, or Josh Allen.

Needless to say, Manning remaining the starter under center in New York may only be a short-term solution until the incoming rookie quarterback, if the team decides to go that route, is ready to take over.

The real question now is whether New York is truly intent on taking a quarterback and who that player will end up being come draft day on April 27.
