In an interview on Mike Tirico's podcast, Eli Manning looked back on the first time he and Peyton Manning matched up in the NFL. It was Week One of the 2006 season and the New York Giants QB was just 25 years old entering his third season in the league.

On the other hand, by 2006, Peyton had already established himself as a star with six Pro Bowls and two league MVP awards to his name already.

“Peyton, obviously, had proved himself, he already had an MVP, he had been a starter for a long time, one of the best players at the time, and I’m just trying to get a feel for how to get back to the playoffs and winning games and getting things organized,” Eli said. “I was still a young player at the time, so this was a great challenge for the Giants to be going against a team that was always in the playoffs. That’s the way we looked at it.”

Peyton and the Colts would end up winning the matchup between brothers by a score of 26-21. Peyton would finish the game completing 25 of his 41 passes for 276, one touchdown and one interception, while Eli completed 20 of his 34 passes for 247 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for the Giants.

While the NFL has seen its fair share of fraternal duos such as Tiki and Marion Barber, Travis and Jason Kelce, as well as Devin and Jason McCourty, no two brothers stacks up as well in the annals of history as Peyton and Eli Manning.

Eli retired with the Giants this past season, while Peyton left the game in 2015 with the Denver Broncos.
