The New York Giants have not had a good start to the season at the wide receiver position. Soon, they may need to start signing guys off of the street to suit up for them if Golden Tate is suspended.

Just recently, Golden Tate released a statement regarding his four-game PED suspension. Tate is currently set to be suspended for four games after testing positive for a banned substance.

Although, Tate is confident that he will win his appeal with the NFL and will avoid any suspension. The wide receiver's appeal will be heard during the first week of August.

The Giants have just started their training camp but their wide receivers are dropping like flies right now. First, Sterling Shepard suffered a fractured thumb in the first practice.

Shepard was expected to move to the outside as the number one receiver to replace Odell Beckham Jr. It seems as if they could use someone like Odell on their team right about now. Shepard is expected to miss four to six weeks, possibly missing the start of the regular season.

Then, Corey Coleman tore his ACL in practice, immediately ending his 2019 season. Coleman was going to be asked to step up in Shepard's absence. Now, their free-agent acquisition in Tate is facing a possible four-game suspension.

Tate was signed to bring some veteran experience to the roster and he can be a reliable target for Eli Manning in the passing game. Currently, the Giants receivers are being led by Cody Latimer, Russell Shepard, and Bennie Fowler.

The Giants will likely look in free agency for any possible candidates at receiver, with anyone with hands being considered.

Despite the suspension, Tate released a statement to say he is confident that he will win his appeal and the truth will come out. We will know if the NFL sees Tate's truth as the actual truth in August.
