The New York Giants have a new offensive coordinator in Jason Garrett. And according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, he is already impressed with his new quarterback, Daniel Jones.

It should come as no surprise that Jones is making a strong impression on any new coach he has. After all, he was the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

And in his rookie year with the Giants, Jones silenced quite a few of the doubters. He threw for 3,027 yards in 13 games, while he managed 24 passing touchdowns.

Meanwhile, he ran for 249 yards and another two touchdowns on the ground.

However, there were some serious issues with turnovers as well. Jones threw 12 interceptions and fumbled the ball 18 times.

The turnovers are something people believe will even out a bit as he grows with the Giants in the NFL though.

That growth is what might be exciting Garrett. The new offensive coordinator talked about how when he was with the Dallas Cowboys he had heard a lot about Jones. But with Dak Prescott on the team, they weren't really in need of a quarterback. So Jones fell off their radar.

He also brings up the ability of Jones. His great arm strength and hunger for more knowledge at the position seem to stand out to Garrett.

It will be interesting to see what Garrett can do with the young quarterback and if he can help him grow.

Over the years as head coach in Dallas, Garrett was often criticized for his team's record. They tended to disappoint compared to the preseason expectations that they had. But over the last few years, Prescott has been an absolute star at quarterback.

So now getting to focus all of his time on the offense, can Garret turn Jones into a bonafide star? It seems he's already impressed with his new quarterback, so it should be a good pairing at the very least.
