The New York Giants have doubled down on their previous statement denying the allegations cast upon them in Brian Flores' lawsuit against the NFL. Flores alleged that the Giants had conducted an interview with him despite having already decided to go with another candidate for their head coaching position, Brian Daboll. The Giants released a statement on Tuesday defending the organization against Flores' allegations, and they issued a second statement on Thursday adding more detail to their defense. Jordan Raanan shared a tweet with the Giants' full statement.

The Giants' statement includes a full itinerary from Flores' visit to their facilities, including meetings with the Mara family and GM Joe Schoen. The Giants allege that their hiring process regarding Flores was “serious and genuine” before claiming that text messages from Bill Belichick are not a sound baseline for accusations of this nature, labeling them as “irresponsible,” before adding that Belichick does not speak for the Giants, nor does he have any affiliation with the franchise. The franchise also mentions that the text messages from Belichick took place prior to Daboll's second interview with the team. The organization stated they'd never hire a candidate after just “a 20-minute zoom” call, which is all the communication they'd had with Daboll prior to his second interview.

The Giants also insist that there is absolutely no evidence to suggest they had made a decision regarding Daboll's hiring prior to Jan. 28, a day after they had brought in Flores for his second interview. The franchise maintains its claims that Flores was a viable candidate for their vacancy up until the final decision to hire Daboll was made. Clearly, Flores sees things differently.
