The New York Giants have yet to register a win this season, but at least their fans can find some sort of silver lining out of Odell Beckham Jr.'s latest performance.

After sitting out the first game of the season due to an ankle injury, Beckham returned to action in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions and had a mediocre outing in limited action. But, on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, the former LSU standout returned to his prolific self, hauling in nine catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns.

And, what would a scoring play from Beckham be without some theatrics? For his latest TD celebration, OBJ decided to mimic a dog lifting its leg to take a leak (via HoopersNation):

As expected, that celebration warranted a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. Although that penalty partly attributed to the Giants' loss, Beckham had a pretty reasonable, albeit sublimina,l explanation as for why he went to such lengths to pull off the wacky stunt.

In the video below from NJ.com, Beckham was asked why he chose to act like a mangy mutt, and his response was simply because he is a dog, so he acted like one:

His curt response may seem standoffish at first, but Beckham probably intended to use that celebration as a metaphor for what's been brewing between President Donald Trump and the NFL (apart from nailing another highlight reel/meme-worthy clip). This past week, Trump encouraged NFL owners to fire players disrespecting the American flag and addressed these players as S.O.B.'s.

Of course, the derogatory term for a female canine is not a word to be taken lightly, especially coming from the nation's leader. In turn, Beckham took an symbolic shot at the POTUS' remarks by acting like that very animal that Trump saw in a handful of his biggest detractors from the NFL.

Beckham wasn't as discreet in the second of his two TD celebs, though, as he raised a fist for a more obvious sign of African-American solidarity and pride.

Part profane, part hilarious, part socio-politically aware – OBJ's latest form of jubilation is definitely one for the books.
