New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has spent much of the NFL offseason working his way back from a surgically-repaired left ankle.

Things have picked up over the last couple of months as he been able to pick up the level of activity on the practice field along with being able to participate in the joint practices against the Detroit Lions this week. In fact, Beckham has pointed out that this helped him out with his confidence in his physical ability, according to Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com.

“I'm really just trying to get back to the best that I possibly can be,” Beckham said. “So to get out there and work some of the techniques, work on some of the things you've been working on against somebody else, it was a good confidence-builder.”

This quite encouraging for the Giants to hear that Beckham Jr. feels more confident in his ability on the field as he has continued to make progress without suffering any setbacks in the process. His performance on the practice field against the Lions has also earned much praise from Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay stating that he's back to the same level of physical explosiveness that he had prior to the fractured left ankle that he suffered last October.

New York is counting on Beckham Jr. to pick up where he left off the as the clear-cut No.1 receiving option in their passing game that has established himself as one of the best players in the league at his position. The rate of his progress in the recovery should set the table for him to put together a huge bounce-back 2018 campaign.

These next few weeks should be an opportunity for him to further physically prepare himself to be ready to take the field come Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
