People—including me—are wondering how Saquon Barkley tops his spectacular rookie campaign from 2018. Could the New York Giants running back be in for an MVP season in 2019?

According to Dan Duggan of The Athletic, Barkley said “anything is possible” after hearing MVP chants. The Giants reported to training camp today and the fans were in full support of Barkley.

Before the 2018 season, there was a ton of criticism towards the Giants for selecting Barkley over Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, and Josh Rosen. Although, Barkley ended up quieting some of the crowd with his impressive play in the backfield.

In 2018, Barkley became the focal point of the Giants offense alongside Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard. As a result, the rookie running back ran for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns on 261 carries.

Along with his rushing stats, Barkley caught 91 passes for 721 yards and another four touchdowns through the air. Altogether, Barkley led the entire NFL with 2,028 yards from scrimmage despite the Giants struggling as a team.

On top of all of that, Barkley was given the honors of being named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year ahead of Baker Mayfield. Now, Barkley's role in the offense could somehow enlargen in 2019.

With the Giants trading Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns, Barkley will be asked to step up even more in the offense. Eli Manning will be returning under center but we could also see the Giants first-round pick in Daniel Jones as well.

No matter who is under center, the sky is the limit for Barkley in his second season. Including the possibility of Barkley taking home the NFL's Most Valuable Player Award after the 2019 season.
