New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard had some fun this week, going undercover and pretending to work at Modell's. Some people did recognize Shepard as an athlete, but not the athlete who he actually, well, is.

Apparently, a fan thought Shepard looked like Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley. I guess he had the sport and the team right. He just misfired on the position and the person.

It definitely seemed to be all in good fun for Shepard, though.

Shepard has had a decent season in what has been a rough year overall for Big Blue, hauling in 54 receptions for 655 yards and four touchdowns.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was originally selected by the Giants in the second round (4oth pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Shepard enjoyed a very impressive rookie campaign, catching 65 passes for 683 yards and eight scores. He followed that up with an injury-plagued 2017 season, finishing with 59 catches and 731 yards while finding the back of the end zone twice in 11 games.

As for Shepard's apparent lookalike Barkley? Let's just say he has been sensational.

With three games left to play, Barkley has racked up 1,124 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. In addition, he has snared 78 balls for 629 yards and four scores.

The Giants have quite a nice group of young offensive players between Shepard, Barkley and, of course, Odell Beckham Jr. That being said, New York is just 5-8 on the year and seems poised to miss the playoffs for the second year in a row.

The Giants will host the Tennessee Titans this Sunday.
