The most notable among the 42 PGA Tour players who agreed to join the Saudi Super League is star golfer Dustin Johnson. His move to the LIV Invitational came as a bit of a surprise to fans across the world, but when you consider just how much money he's due to pocket from the upstart golf league and Greg Norman, the decision becomes a lot less stunning. According to The Telegraph, Johnson is set to be paid as much as $125 million in order to make the move to the Saudi Super League.

The report indicates that the $125 million would essentially be a signing bonus for Johnson, who would still stand to earn a significant amount more through competing at events, of which there are currently eight scheduled. Clearly, landing Johnson for the LIV Invitational was a top priority for Norman, who had to fork over a colossal amount of cash to land the 37-year-old.

While he may face some scrutiny for his decision to jump ship from the PGA Tour, it would be very difficult for anyone to turn down that type of payday, simply as a signing bonus no less.

A total of 42 players agreed to join the upstart Saudi Super League, though none with as big of name recognition as Johnson. The PGA doesn't plan to sway on its stance regarding players participating in both leagues, so Johnson agreeing to join the LIV Invitational is a significant move.

Other golfers headed to the Saudi Super League include Sergio Garcia, Louis Oosthuizen, and Kevin Na, among others.
